I need someone to walk me through changing the fuel filter on my 4240. I only have a transmission for a 4440 and it is not the same. Is there a fuel shut off valve under the tank somewhere like the 4440 has? Merely way I meet to prime it is the trivial lift pump that runs off the cam? Is this right? Trying to make this as painless as possible so that I'm non dealing with a bunch of air in the lines. Thanks.

When I alter the fuel filter on my 4255 I never cutting the fuel off. I but un-clench old fuel filter, remove & install new filter & clench. Then loosen drain screw at the acme side of filter base so on 4240 pump lever on lift pump until air gratuitous fuel comes out bleeder then tighten bleeder & starting time engine

Information technology took all of a minute to change and no problems with trapped air. Non sure if the filter was bad, no h2o in the fuel just it was old, been on at that place the three years I've had information technology. One-time filter had the older JD logo on it.

I pull a 9' NH 617 disc mower with this tractor and lately information technology started having a cursory hesitation when coming out of a plow in the corners. I hope this was the issue. Give thanks You Tx Jim.
